Challenge:
To identify a need for a new product by studying the impacts of social and cultural aspects on Millennials' behaviors and lifestyles in Tehran, Iran.

Story:

“Soul” was the result of my passion for Human-Centered and Interaction Design by identifying and focusing on user’s need in the design process. This project was my undergraduate thesis project which I defended to receive my bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design in Tehran, Iran.
The goal was to identify a need for a new product for millennial in Tehran, Iran to design in harmony with their social and cultural values. Also, approaching the problem from a different angel, choosing not to redesign an existing product and going through the same industrial design process, was the real challenge.

Process:

The research process was based on the cultural and social manners and needs for millennial in Tehran, Iran.
The research started with studying and identifying the impacts of social and cultural aspects on everyday lives of millennial and how they are interacting with a certain products categories their daily lives.

Based on research findings, the initial iteration version — the theoretical design of the product was formed based on the importance of various aspects, including technical, cultural, economical, aesthetics, and human-factors. This version was created as the structure for the aesthetic design of the product.
Soul was the result of this research and design process which titled as a “conceptual design proposal for an interactive product” for millennials in Tehran, Iran.
